Rolly-Michaux Galleries Update 10/23/20

Rolly-Michaux Galleries in Back Bay Listed for Sale, Asking Nearly $4M

Rolly-Michaux Galleries, a longtime art gallery on Dartmouth Street dating back to the 1970s, was listed on Oct. 1 for $3,995,000. Ron Michaux, who has operated Rolly-Michaux Galleries in the space since 1976, plans to retire this year and has put the space up for sale.

According to the deed, Michaux paid $70,000 for the 1,763-square-foot space in 1976. Part of the famed Hotel Vendome building, which contains 110 residential homes and 27 commercial condominiums, the building sits next to the proposed site of The Aubry, a Newbury Street development that would replace a 66-spot parking lot with a five-story building of office and retail space.

The site features 13-foot floor-to-ceiling windows with wide pedestrian walkways, and is located on a prime corner of Back Bay in The Vendome building.
