Seaport Movie Theater Announces Permanent Closure
The ShowPlace ICON Theatre located in the heart of the Seaport announced earlier this week that it will remain permanently closed. “While we did everything we could to adjust to the constant challenges of the pandemic, ultimately it was not enough to remain open,” the theater tweeted on Monday. The 44,000 square foot theater originally opened in 2018 and featured 10-screens. In a statement, WS Development said they have come to an agreement with Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres to close the venue and are working to determine the future of the space.
