1810 Randall Avenue Rezoning Update 09/06/22

Senior Housing Project Approved in Soundview

The NYC Mayor's Office has just approved a rezoning proposal that will pave the way for an 8-story, mixed-use building, at 1810 Randall Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.

Developed by Vertical Community Development, the structure is set to stand feet tall and total square feet. It will contain 150 Affordable Independent Residence for Seniors (AIRS) units.

The building will also have 23,601 square feet of community facility space, which is to consist of 17 senior supportive housing units, as well as a new worship space for the Second Pentecostal Church of God La Hermosa. Plans further call for an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

As a result of this approval, 3-separate lots are to be combined and rezoned in order to form the project site. At the moment, these lots play host to a number of small retail shops, as well as the church's current facility. These structures will inevitably be torn down in order to make way for the new development.
