Small Hotel Tops Out on the Lower East Side
At 79 Eldridge Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side, general contractor, DLC Development Corp, has topped out a brand new, 14-story hotel. Developer, Eldridge Hotel LLC, paid $5.3 million for this skinny parcel of land back in 2016 and plans to have 48 rooms in the newly built structure. The slim, 136-foot tall tower was designed by Michael Kang Architecture and totals just 19,279 square feet. In addition to the planned hotel rooms, the building will also contain around 1,200 square feet for a community facility. The hotel is situated just a quick walk from the bustling Chinatown neighborhood and will likely be marketed towards tourists of the area.
