South Coast Improvement, Co. Completes $2M Renovation Project to Build Brockton Medical Marijuana Dispensary

South Coast Improvement Company (SCI), a design-build general contractor serving New England and the Mid-Atlantic states, recently finished work on a $2.3M renovation project to construct a medical marijuana dispensary at 1090 West Chestnut Street in Brockton, Massachusetts for Commonwealth Alternative Care. Hedrick Brothers Construction was the project manager.

The project featured a full gut and renovation fit out for the entire interior of the building to accommodate the medical marijuana dispensary and paving the way for a future retail dispensary. Additionally, the project included ample parking and access as well as landscaping.

Other components of the project included an entire mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrade. The exterior of the building received new windows and storefront, as well as signage.

“We have a lot of experience in the healthcare arenas between healthcare facilities and urgent care centers. Building a medical marijuana facility is really an extension of that experience,” said Tom Quinlan, president of South Coast Improvement Company. “We’re very happy with the result of this project and look forward to more work in this growing industry.”

The architect for the project was Glidden Spina. Engineering firms that worked on the project include Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and Field Engineering Company (civil and site work).

Commonwealth Alternative Care is slated to open February 15, 2019. The dispensary will be operated by Tilt Holdings Company.
