Springfield Gardens Project Navigates Public Review
An 8-story, mixed-use development, proposed for 146-93 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, Queens has been quickly progressing through public review. Developed by , and designed by , it would contain apartments (consisting of both market-rate and affordable units), and total square feet. The building would also have square feet of ground-floor retail space, and parking spaces.
A few months ago, submitted an application requesting the necessary zoning map and text amendments to facilitate the new development. It has since been reviewed by Queens Community Board 13, Queen's Borough President, and is now in the hands of the City Planning Commission (CPC). The CPC will have 60 days to hold a hearing and vote on the application. Once this happens, it will be sent to the City Council for further review. In short, the project is now about halfway through the zoning process.
