St. Petersburg City Council to Review 33-Story Mixed-Use Tower in Downtown St. Petersburg

At a meeting on November 3, the St. Petersburg City Council, meeting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, will review the proposal by local developer Echelon Real Estate for a mixed-use tower in Downtown St. Petersburg. Echelon’s plan calls for a 33-story mixed-use building, which will rise to 375 feet making it one of the tallest buildings in St. Petersburg.  The tower will be on the site of a current three-story office building and adjacent surface parking lot at the corner of 3rd Street South and 3rd Avenue South.  The building would feature 268 apartments along with 15,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. A two-story end cap retail space will front 3rd Street with the majority of the retail space fronting 3rd Avenue.  The apartment units will range from studios to large two-story penthouses on the top floor.  Amenities include an eighth-floor amenity deck with an outdoor pool, large TV wall, fire pits and cabanas.  Residents will also have access to a fitness center, resident workspaces, conference rooms and a community kitchen.  A parking garage will contain 323 spaces and there will be 289 bicycle parking spaces.  If approved, construction would begin in the first quarter of 2023 with completion in the second quarter of 2025.
