River North (Liberty Towers) Update 11/22/21

Staten Island Tower Development Given the Go-Ahead

A proposal for a massive mixed-use development in the St.George neighborhood of Staten Island has just been granted approval by the NYC Mayor's Office. Back in February, developer, , submitted a land-use application requesting zoning map and text amendments that would facilitate a 4-building complex called River North (Liberty Towers). The  square-foot development will consist of two neighboring sites and contain a total of  residential units. This would also include  square feet of retail, 225 affordable housing units, and parking spaces for  vehicles. During the public review process, the City Council reviewed the proposal but decided to refer a modified application back to the City Planning Commission (CPC) for revision. The CPC ultimately approved these modifications, and the application was sent to the Mayor's Office where it received the green light.
