The Scholar Athletes Program Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Scholar Athletes program celebrated 10 years of achievement during their 2019 gala at The Museum of Science earlier this week. The evening kicked off with a performance by the Everett High School Marching Band followed by remarks from both Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and Mayor Walsh discussing the wonderful work the organization has accomplished over the last decade. SA Founder, John Fish (Suffolk CEO & President) also spoke on the important mission of leveraging the power of athletics and wellness to cultivate the discipline, confidence and social-emotional skills needed to support success in school, as well as success in life. To raise funds for future goals, a live auction was held with prizes including Red Sox & Bruins tickets, and a Nantucket golf outing including a private helicopter ride to and from Boston! The night was topped off with fireworks over the Charles River.
