Two Competing Bids for Charlestown Power Plant Building 108 to be Reviewed by BPDA
The BPDA is scheduled to review two different proposals for Charlestown Navy Yard's Building 108 at their next hearing on December 3rd. The two proposals - from Power House Partners and Vision Development - come in response to an RFP the BPDA put out in 2019.
Power House Partners, an affiliate of Conroy Development, proposes to construct a new 65,000 SF building featuring 44,000 SF of lab space and 18,000 SF of ground-floor restaurant and retail space. The new building would stand 4-stories above the site.

In contrast, Vision Development proposes 78 new residential units with a mix of retail for the site. The plan calls for reuse of the Building 108 complex - slated to be demolished in 2021 - and incorporate it with a new building to include the 78 units as well as 5,200 square feet of commercial and retail space. In total, Vision proposes 120,494 square-feet of development.

Both proposals are scheduled to be heard at the BPDA's next community meeting, slated for December 3rd at 6 pm.
