960 Franklin Avenue Rezoning Update 06/22/21

ULURP Still Suspended for Crown Heights Development

Back in March, a Brooklyn judge indefinitely suspended the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) for the proposed, 960 Franklin Avenue rezoning project in Crown Heights. As of now, the ULURP is still suspended according to the NYC Department of Planning. The project if approved would see the construction of two 39-story residential buildings by developer, Continuum Company. The proposed site is located directly across from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and this has sparked heavy opposition from the local community. It is still unclear when the public review process will be allowed to proceed.
