Uphams Corner Comfort Station Update 04/24/19

Uphams Corner Comfort Station Project Receives Funding From Boston's Community Preservation Act

More than $11 million in Community Preservation Act (CPA) funding was awarded to 35 historic preservation projects earlier this week, including the Uphams Corner Comfort Station renovation.  $365,000 was allocated to renovate the building that dates back to 1912. The stucco and terracotta tile structure was designed by local architect William Besarick and originally supported the expanding streetcar system. Plans call for the building to be renovated into the Sip & Spoke Bike Kitchen a mission‐driven retail business that integrates a full‐service bicycle shop and cafe.
