Upper West Side Hotel Bought for $79.75M
A 15-story hotel at 45 West 81st Street on Manhattan's Upper West Side has just sold for $79.75 million. Known as "The Excelsior Hotel", the building was purchased by Emmut Properties from Excelsior Syndicate Inc in an arms-length transaction.
Originally built in 1923, it contains 215 rooms, and totals 133,229 square feet. There is also approximately 6,500 square feet of retail space inside the structure. Guest amenities include a fitness center, a business center with conference facilities, and a lounge. The hotel is desirably located across the street from the American Museum of Natural History, and just down the block from Central Park.
