Lifting up and shining a spotlight on locally based, Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, WS Development and Boston Seaport announce the return of Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market, taking place one Sunday per month from 12-6pm, on Seaport Common beginning Sunday, April 25th through Sunday, October 17th. The 2021 installation of Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market significantly evolves the partnership between WS, Boston Seaport and Black Owned Bos., which formed last year and resulted in the first Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market, a very successful one day pop-up that first took place in August 2020 and returned for a second time in October 2020.  This year, Bostonians can enjoy the spacious outdoor market on April 25th, May 23rd, June 27th, July 25th, August 29th, September 26th and October 17th to discover more than 30 Black-owned businesses from throughout the Greater Boston area. Visitors will find art, skincare lines, house plants, adult and children’s clothing, and even metaphysical offerings, all developed by local Black entrepreneurs. Seaport Common is located at 85 Northern Avenue; visitwww.bostonseaport.xyz for more information.

All vendors featured at the market are members of Black Owned Bos.’s incredible local network; each vendor will be featured in a tented area on Seaport Common, providing a safe pop-up location to showcase and sell their goods. As Seaport continues to keep safety as a top priority, numerous COVID-related precautions will be implemented at the market. To maintain a safe and controlled environment, all market guests must RSVP via EventBrite for contact tracing. Guests will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis and are encouraged to limit their shopping to 30 minutes. All staff, vendors, and guests at the Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market will be required to wear a mask at all times. Shopper capacity at the market will be limited in adherence with the City of Boston’s latest COVID safety guidelines, currently 100 guests, and shoppers are highly encouraged to use a credit card for all transactions.

“Seaport is thrilled to partner with Black Owned Bos. on a deeper level with this six month installation of the outdoor market. It was amazing to see how last year’s pop-up created exciting new opportunities for these incredible business owners as they connected with residents and visitors in the Seaport. Coupled with our outdoor fitness series, Seaport Sweat, and new pop-ups at The Current, Seaport Common continues to be one of the most interesting places in Boston, and Seaport x Black Owned Bos really enhances this special public space,” says Emily Soukas, Senior Manager of Activations, Seaport, WS Development.

“Black Owned Bos. is excited to partner with Boston Seaport for the return of Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market. Visibility and access are so important and we’re pleased to curate this space in a safe and fun environment,” says Jae’da Turner, Founder and Managing Director of Black Owned Bos.

“I am so excited to be returning back to the Seaport for the Black Owned Bos. Market. Last year was a great opportunity to meet new customers and expand the reach of my business. Since then, I have participated in a number of other Black Owned Bos. events and I am looking forward to this upcoming season at the Seaport,” says Steysy Clark owner of House or Art and Craft, a returning vendor to the market.
