BLDG 89 Update 05/23/17

Zoning Board approves BLDG 89 workforce housing development in Allston

The BLDG 89 workforce housing development in Allston, which will feature 129 apartment residences and 7,500 square feet of retail space, was approved by the City of Boston's Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) today. The building has now received all necessary approvals and can proceed with construction. The ZBA rejected BLDG 89 last year, citing concerns including parking and potential undergraduate student tenants. In response, on-site parking has been increased to 79 spaces from previously approved 69, and no more than one third of apartments at BLDG 89 will be leased to undergraduate students at once.
