What happened to the original design I ask rhetorically? Either design engineering and/or costing problems prevented the powers that be from bringing forth the proposed design concept; I liked the projecting triangular "chunks" of the building jutting forth from the angled wall - far more dramatic, aesthetically pleasing appearance than the chop-a-block facade as seen in the as-built structure. Looks a tiny bit like a grandchild of the Boston City Hall, taller and glassier than concrete grandpa.
