Foundation work is ongoing for the upcoming 4-story Class A office/lab building at 225 Wyman Street in Waltham. The building will feature 507,000 square feet designed to LEED Silver Certification. Along with a full suite of interior amenities the property will also include walking trails and landscaped courtyards. Construction is expected to be complete in 2021.
Gilbane Selected as Construction Manager for 225 Wyman
Hobbs Brook Management has selcted Gilbane to provide preconstruction and construction management services for the 500,000-square foot speculative building at 225 Wyman St. in Waltham’s Hobbs Brook Office Park. The building will offer the largest contiguous block of class A space in the area.
Construction on the 5-story, lab-capable building designed by Gensler will begin in August and be completed in 2021. The project will also include a new parking garage within the Hobbs Brook Office Park to accommodate parking needs for the complex.
“We selected Gilbane for their extensive expertise in planning and building laboratory facilities,” Hobbs Brook Management principal architect Brad Cardoso said in a statement. “Gilbane has previously worked with Gensler on projects of this size and they are well-positioned for a successful project.”
Demolition Nearly Complete at 225 Wyman Street in Waltham
Demo is wrapping up at 225 Wyman St. in the Hobbs Brook Office Park in Waltham to make way for a new construction, 500,000+ square foot project. Located along 128, in the busy tech/life-science corridor, the floor plates of the building are designed to accommodate office and lab space. On-site amenities will include a cafe, fitness center, and conference space. 225 Wyman is expected to be ready for tenant-fit out in Q1 2021.
