About Harvard University Lowell House
17-79 Mill St, Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA
Full renovation of Harvard University undergraduate house originally built in 1930. The project will preserve the tradition of the historic building while upgrading spaces to meet the needs of the modern community.
The focal point of the renewal will be Otto Hall, named in recognition of a gift from Alexander Otto and designed by KieranTimberlake. The new entryway will connect students and faculty to the second-floor library and the new Senior Common Room. The upgrade will also include a new screening room and student social spaces on the lower level. A new elevator will also replace the seven flights of stairs required to reach the Tower Room.
The project is expected to be completed in fall 2019.
