Northeastern University is expanding its educational infrastructure with a new $1.6 billion development plan. One of the most groundbreaking buildings to come out of this massive undertaking is the $225 million Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC).

The ISEC functions as a collaborative space for students and professors to innovate with one another, housing Northeastern's College of Science, Bouve College of Health Sciences, College of Engineering and College of Computer and Information Science. The ISEC stands as a prideworthy beacon of innovation in Boston's Lower Roxbury neighborhood, featuring inspired design with high ceilings, a spiral staircase and a unique sun screen that regulates sunlight entering the building, resulting in increased energy efficiency. The ISEC is expected to achieve LEED Platinum energy efficiency certification. The following are renderings of the ISEC:
