About Spring Flats
Petworth, Washington DC
The historic building served as a home for Jewish senior citizens from the 1920s to the 1960s. The district then bought the property for $13 mil and used the facility as a mental health institution. The property has been vacant since 2009.
The property is now slated for redevelopment to include 88 affordable senior independent living apartments, 87 mixed-income rental units, and 10 townhome-style condominium units.
