About 2395 Mill Road
Alexandria, VA
In June 2018, Metro announced an office consolidation strategy to downsize from ten current office buildings throughout the region to four. The strategy was designed to create more accessible and functional workspaces for employees, and save the agency $130 million in capital and operating costs over 20 years, which will be reinvested into transit safety and operations.
As part of that process, Metro selected the 2.4 acres owned by the agency at 2395 Mill Road to transform into the agency’s Virginia headquarters. The development will be part of the larger redevelopment of Alexandria’s Eisenhower Avenue, and will serve as a catalyst for community growth. The building is planned to be constructed to LEED Platinum design standards, and is expected to deliver in mid- to late-2022.
