Code modification to resolve condition where existing storm water lines are passing over the stair pressurization duct in the corridor. If a fire rated shaft was built the duct would need to be lowered out of the path of the existing storm water lines. Many other MEPF systems run through the corridor so by lowering the duct the ceiling would also be lowered to approx. 7'.
