$11M UMD College Park Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex Renovation Approved
On Wednesday, the state Board of Public Works approved a construction contract to renovate the university’s field hockey and lacrosse facility. The UMD field hockey and lacrosse complex currently sits at 6195 SF but with the new renovation plan, the complex will double in size to 15,340 SF and will have to be partially demolished. Plans for the renovation include new physical training and sports therapy areas, new team lounges, upgraded locker rooms, a new lobby, and a Hall of Fame entrance. A new second floor will be added to the existing building for coaching offices, conference rooms, and other amenities. Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2023.
