233 Hancock Street apartments in Dorchester receive final construction approval


An upcoming mixed-use building located at 233 Hancock Street in Dorchester, at the intersection of Hancock and Pleasant Streets, has received final approval for construction. Following the City of Boston’s Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)’s approval of the project at yesterday’s meeting, construction of the five-story, 36-unit apartment complex can now proceed. 233 Hancock Street will feature 12 studio, 12 one-bedroom, eight two-bedroom and four three-bedroom units, with five designated affordable. The building will replace two existing auto body shops, and will also feature a ground-floor art gallery and retail space.
