$36 M Incentives Deal For Jacksonville American Lions Tower Moves Forward

A board committee of the Downtown Investment Authority voted unanimously on Sept. 15 to advance a $35.88 million city incentive deal for American Lions LLC’s proposed 44-story residential tower at former Jacksonville Landing.

The 5:0 vote will certify good passage from the board next week. The final decision will be made by Jacksonville City Council on whether to provide the incentives and an additional $27.576 million government loan for the project, which is valued at $166.6 million. City officials hope to start construction by June 2023.

American Lions Tower will be a 480-foot tower with 332 apartments, 15,000 square feet of residential facilities, 5,000 square feet of public outdoor patios, and 31,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. It will be incorporated into a new Riverfront Plaza, the park that will occupy most of the former landing area.
