4 Projects Including Southie Boutique Hotel Win Approval

Four new projects, along with changes to 4 additional projects have won approval in Boston. Included in the approvals were the 330 C Street Hotel set to include 72 guest rooms along with an expansion of Boston College High School. A project team was also selected to redevelop the 555-595 Columbia Road site in Dorchester.

247 Hancock Street

Arx Urban has won approval for the redevelopment of 247 Hancock Street in Dorchester. Plans call for the construction of 47 rental units across 48,000 square feet of floor space. The building will replace a car wash now on the site.

150-160 William T. Morrissey Blvd, Boston College High School

Boston College High School has won approval for an expansion of the Boston College High School campus in Dorchester. Plans call for a 42,000 SF addition dubbed the PF Cadigan 52 Family Foundation Wellness Complex featuring a new swimming pool with a grandstand area, locker rooms, new cardio, weightlifting, and wrestling areas, and renovated entry areas. 

330 C Street

RISE Construction Management & RISE Together has won approval for a hotel development at 330 C Street in South Boston near the Boston Exhibition and Convention Center. Plans call for a 6-story hotel featuring 72 rooms.

85 West Newton Street

Plans have been greenlit for the redevelopment of the former All Saints Lutheran Church at 85 West Newton Street. Plans call for a 4-story commercial building featuring 26,440 SF of community arts and classroom space.

555-595 Columbia Road

The team of Civico Development & Dream Collaborative has been selected to develop the 555-595 Columbia Road site in Dorchester. Their plans for the site call for 33 affordable condo units along with 20,000 square feet of space for a new library, and a 1,500-square-foot creative studio. 

 

734 Dudley Street

New Horizons Apts Building, LLC has won approval for a notice of project change for the approved 734 Dudley Street project in Roxbury. Originally approved in 2019, the NPC calls for an additional floor with 5 more residential units.

In total, 734 Dudley Street will feature 25 units across 6 floors with nearly 3,000 square-feet of ground-floor retail space.

425 Border Street

A notice of project change has been issued for 425 Border Street in East Boston. The newly constructed building featuring 16 units will now be listed as apartments instead of condos. The developer sited market conditions and COVID delays as reasons for the change.

265-267 Amory Street

A notice of small project change has been granted to Youth Enrichment Services for 265 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain. The number of condominium units has been reduced from 9 to 7 with a height reduction from 39 feet to 35.

4198-4206 Washington Street

Arx Urban has won approval to increase the planned number of affordable housing units from 13 to 19 at 4198 Washington Street. In total, the development will feature 31 mixed-income housing units in Roslindale along with 6,800 square feet of retail/community theater space.
