400 Units Planned for Fairfax Site
Grubb Properties has filed plans for the Link Apartments Fair Lakes, a 400-unit multifamily building on an 11.71-acre site. Prior approvals had called for a 213,000-square-foot office but now the developer sees this change as an advantageous swap because the office is unlikely-to-be-built. Per the filing, office space in the post-pandemic time period has been severely challenged and by converting approved but unbuilt office square footage to residential, this application adds new market-affordable and workforce housing to Fairfax County's housing inventory. The project team hopes to begin construction in 2025.
