46-30 21st Street Tops Out in LIC
General contractor, , has topped out the concrete superstructure of a 9-story, mixed-use project, going up at 46-30 21st Street in Long Island City, Queens. Developed by , the building will contain rental apartments, as well as an unspecified amount of retail space, located on the ground floor. Plans also call for an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles. Designed by , the structure stands feet tall and totals square feet.
The site measures square feet, and sits at the corner of 46th Road and 21st Street. An interesting side note about the project; it turns out that United Construction and Development Group's President, Chris Jiashu Xu, and Century Development Group's Founder, George Xu, are actually brothers. As two of the larger development firms in Queens, these companies usually develop and construct their projects independently, making this a rare instance where the titans have joined forces for a bit of a family partnership.
