5 Projects Win Approval in Boston Including 400+ Unit Development in Dorchester

5 projects were given the approval to move forward in development totaling 852,041 SF of space. In addition, notices of project changes were approved for 321 Harrison Avenue and 69 A Street. Among the approved projects includes the Jan Karski Way extension project in Dorchester as well as the 601 Newbury Street addition project in Fenway. Check out the approved projects below. 

190 Dudley Street

A Roxbury-based developer won approval to construct a 5-story mixed use building on Dudley Street in Nubian Square. Plans call for 28 units with 5,072 SF of ground-floor retail space.

601 Newbury Street

An Everett-based developer was granted permission for a vertical expansion of 601 Newbury Street in Fenway. Plans were approved for a 4-story addition on top of an existing 3-story building, featuring a total of 45,068 SF of space and 71 compact units.

555 Metropolitan Avenue

Plans were approved for a 3-story development at 555 Metropolitan Avenue in Hyde Park.  The project will feature 21 units, a mix of 2 & 3 bedrooms along with 21 parking spaces. The site is located about 1 mile from both the Hyde Park & Fairmount Commuter rail stations.

69 A Street

A notice of project change was approved for 69 A Street in South Boston, converting use of the property from office to labs. Completed in May, plans call for an interior outfit of the original 45,000 SF project for new life science tenant uses.

69 Bailey Street

Plans for a new 4-story multifamily building were approved in Dorchester. The project features a new four-story, 29-unit residential building, with 4 affordable units located near the Peabody Square MBTA Red Line station.

321 Harrison Avenue

A notice of project change has been approved for the under-construction 321 Harrison Avenue in Boston’s South End. Developers have filed new plans for operate at BioSafety Level 3 lab and research uses. The building will feature 220K SF and 11 stories of open floor plates with 10ft tall windows offering views of Back Bay, the Financial District, and the Seaport.

Jan Karski Way Extension

Approval has been given to the Jan Karski Way extension project in Dorchester. The project will feature 403 residential units with 14,665 square feet of retail space, and associated parking, landscape, streetscape, and utility improvements on 169,268 SF of land.
