740 Units Planned for Pike Center Redevelopment
Kimco Realty has submitted plans for the redevelopment of an 8+ acre site along Rockville Pike, currently home to a 1-story shopping plaza. Plans call for a two-phased project to include up to 740 residential units and nearly 70,000 square feet of commercial space.
Phase 1 would be a wood-podium concept with ground floor retail facing Rockville Pike that could accommodate up to a retail junior anchor tenant of approximately 37,000 square feet. Residential units would be above the retail and at-grade on the Chapman Avenue side of the project. Phase 2 would feature a 16-story tower and parking garage that utilizes the remainder of the parcel, after reserving a minimum area for 0.50 acres of “Neighborhood Green” open space.
