76-Story Supertall Begins to Climb in Midtown

General contractor, , recently began forming the concrete superstructure for a 76-story, mixed-use tower project, rising at 520 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan's Midtown neighborhood.

Having only amassed around 9 or 10 floors so far, it'll be quite some time before this supertall tops out among the clouds. When it does, however, the foot tall behemoth will become the 2nd tallest building on 5th Avenue (ranked only behind the Empire State Building) and the 18th tallest building in all of NYC, provided that no other projects beat it to the chase.

Developed by , the completed building is set to contain luxury condo units,  square feet of office area, and square feet of commercial space, consisting of restaurants and retail shops. Planned tenant amenities are to include a fitness center with a spa, a swimming pool, and a recreational sports area.

Designed by , 520 Fifth Avenue will total square feet altogether. Construction is estimated to take until the summer of 2026, and the project is being propelled by a $540 million financing package, which was issued back in March of last year. The package includes $410 million, supplied by Bank OZK, and an additional $130 million, brought forth by The Carlyle Group.
