Affordable Housing Lottery Kicks Off for 33 Franklin Street

NYC Housing Connect has started an affordable housing lottery encompassing 24 units within a 7-story, multifamily development, going up at 33 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Eligible applicants must earn between $55,680 and $165,230 annually, or sit within 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI). Applications will be accepted either online or by mail until May 20, 2024.

Developed and constructed in-house by , the new building will contain apartments altogether. Units will be offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations.

The low-rise structure will offer a number of tenant amenities, such as a two-story fitness center, a pair of landscaped roof terraces, a residential lounge, a bicycle storage area, and a shared laundry room.

In addition to residential units, the development will have an unspecified amount of retail space, located on the ground floor, as well as an enclosed parking garage with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , 33 Franklin Street stands feet tall and totals square feet. The project site is an irregularly shaped through lot, and as such, the property is alternatively addressed as 82 Calyer Street. Construction is in the interior finishing stage and work is expected to wrap up soon.
