Colossal Apartment Complex Approved in Bayonne

Local planning boards have just approved a massive, multi-building residential complex, that will be constructed on the Bayonne Harbor waterfront in Bayonne, New Jersey.

Set to occupy 12 acres of the former Military Ocean Terminal peninsula, the new development will be known as "Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor".

A product of , it will consist of five buildings, ranging between 5 and 16-stories tall. These will be built in three separate phases.

The buildings have been designed by . Combined, they will contain a total of rental apartments, available in studio, one, two, and three-bedroom configurations.

In addition to residential units, the development will have tenant amenities, a waterfront promenade, and a landscaped park. Plans also call for square feet of retail space, and two 4-story parking garages, with a combined capacity of vehicles.

A start date for Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor hasn't been announced yet, but the build will come as part of the City of Bayonne's latest redevelopment plan. The initiative seeks to improve roughly 430 acres of unused land.
