Demolition Prep Begins at 343 Madison Avenue
As Boston Properties works to secure special permits for its 55 story Midtown office tower, demolition work has already commenced at 343 Madison Avenue. The existing pre-war building is owned by the MTA, and was previously used as their headquarters. Once reduced to rubble, the MTA will maintain ownership of the land, and the 1,050 foot tall tower will be developed pursuant to a 99-year ground lease.
