Demolition Wrapping Up Ahead of 49-Story Midtown Tower Project
Demolition contractor, The Titan Group, is currently razing the last few floors of 345 Madison Avenue; a 15-story, Midtown office building, coming down in order to make room for 343 Madison; a colossal, 49-story tower project, set to replace it.
So far the teardown has taken the better part of a year since the building had to be gutted first before the superstructure could be dismantled.
Developed by , and designed by , 343 Madison will contain square feet of office space.
The base of the tower will have a direct entrance to Grand Central's East Side Access platforms, as well as 2,100 square feet of ground-floor retail, making use of the high-dollar frontage on Madison Avenue. The project site also sits in the heart of East Midtown, which is one of the city's hottest development districts at the moment.
Altogether the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet. Construction is expected to begin shortly after demolition concludes and site prep is conducted.
