Facade Work Completes for Bronx Point
Facade services contractor, CANY, has shared a photo, taken during a recent building envelope inspection at Bronx Point. The project team has reached a new milestone, with general contractor, , and masonry supplier, Kings Contracting Group, having now installed all facade materials for the first phase of the project (save for a few minor trim pieces on the ground floor).
Located at 575 Exterior Street in the South Bronx, construction broke ground on the 22-story, mixed-use development, a little under two years ago.
Developed jointly by L+M Development Partners and Type A Projects, the building will contain affordable housing units, available in studio, one, two, and three-bedroom configurations. This number will eventually increase to 1,045 units after the later phases of the project are completed.
Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a community lounge, an outdoor terrace, a children’s room, and a bike storage area.
In addition to residential units, Bronx Point will serve a variety of other functions. The building will contain 56,000 square feet of community facilities, and square feet of ground-floor retail space. It will also house the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Stepping away from the structure, 2.8 acres of the project site will be turned into a public green space, envisioned by Marvel Architects.
Designed by , Bronx Point's first phase will stand feet tall and total square feet. Construction is set to finish towards the end of 2023.
