451 Tenth Avenue Update 10/29/21

Facade Work Continues for Hudson Yards Residential Tower

Facade work is slowly, but surely progressing for a new Hudson Yards residential tower at 451 Tenth Avenue. Developed by , the story structure stands fully topped out and ready for the complete installation of its exterior cladding.

The tower will contain rental apartments and a senior living facility. It will also have a long list of tenant amenities including a rooftop swimming pool, an outdoor terrace, a fitness center, and even a movie theater.

The front is coming along nicely, receiving both windows and insulation before the aesthetic facade materials are installed. In comparison, the back of the building appears to be a lot less finished at this point.

In-house general contractor, has made noticeable progress since our last visit however. Back then in July, the rear of the structure was more of a concrete skeleton with the vast majority of floors exposed to the elements. Now windows are being installed, in order to allow interior work to begin on the lower floors.

451 Tenth Avenue was designed by and will evoke sleek and crisp lines once completed. Despite being dwarfed by The Spiral directly next door, the building is still properly tall, standing at feet. This difference in size will help taper off the towering Hudson Yards skyline, which sticks out like a sore thumb when viewed from the Jersey side of the Hudson River. Construction is expected to continue into next year, and finish sometime in October.
