Facade Work Nearly Complete for Brooklyn Residential Tower
Construction is steadily progressing at 18 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The 532 foot tall tower's facade is now nearly complete, save for the ground floor, and a vertical strip behind the temporary construction elevator.
The mixed-use tower, developed by Brodsky, will have 858 residential units, spread across 781,052 sqft. The building in its entirety will total 832,448 square feet, with general contractor, Tishman Construction (Now owned by Aecom), overseeing the construction work.
In designing 18 Sixth Avenue, Perkins Eastman was tasked with squeezing the structure onto a 31,906 sqft. plot of land, located directly behind the Barclays Center. That job has been accomplished, albeit with very little room to spare.
