Facade Work Underway for 19-Story Residential Tower in East Williamsburg
General contractor, , is now installing windows and facade materials at 159 Boerum Street; a topped-out, 19-story residential tower, going up in Brooklyn's East Williamsburg neighborhood.
Jointly developed by Slate Property Group, and Avenue Realty Capital, with a $55 million construction loan, secured through White Oak Real Estate Capital, the building is set to contain rental apartments. Although most of these dwellings will be offered at market rate, 19 units will be dedicated to affordable housing.
The building will feature a few tenant amenities, such as a roof deck, a fitness center, and a bike storage area. Plans also call for an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
Designed by , 159 Boerum Street stands feet tall and totals square feet. The structure is significantly taller than all other buildings in the immediate area, so it remains to be seen if this project will spawn a new trend for high-rise construction in East Williamsburg.
