Federal Realty Requests More Time to Begin Construction on Somerville Lab
Federal Realty has filed a 2-year extension request on the special permit approvals for 350 Assembly Row in Somerville. The original approvals for the 7-story lab development are set to expire on May 19th, 2024. In the filing, the developer cites "rising interest rates, increase in construction costs, and oversaturation of lab product in the region" as causing the financial infeasibility of the project and delaying the start of construction.
