FiDi Office Building Trades for $147.5M
A 31-story, office building, located at 222 Broadway in Manhattan's Financial District, was recently sold for $147.5 million. The property was purchased by GFP Real Estate, from the previous owner, DWS, in a deal brokered by Newmark Group.
Originally constructed in 1961 and later renovated in 2013, the building was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates.
In addition to office space, 222 Broadway features ground-floor retail. The structure stands 393 feet tall and totals 777,570 square feet altogether. DWS incurred a serious loss on the sale of the building, having bought it for $502 million back in 2014.
