Harlem Museum Site Prepped for Construction
Demolition of the old building occupying 144 West 125th Street in Harlem has now been completed. The leveled site will soon be home to The Studio Museum in Harlem; an institution devoted to artists of African descent. The new 82,000 sqft building has been designed by David Adjaye Associates and will showcase the museum's 2,000 piece collection spread across 6-stories. The general contractor for the project is Sciame Construction LLC, and work is expected to cost $122 million.
