Map Amendment Filed to Re-Zone Navy Yard East Site for Mixed-Use Development
The DC Office of Planning has filed for Text & Map Amendments to create the Navy Yard East (NYE) Zone. The proposal includes text to add this new NYE zone to the list of mixed-use zones in the city. The Navy is coordinating a land exchange to obtain approximately 6 acres of land outside the Tingey Gate. To complete the exchange, a private developer, Redbrick LMD named last month, would receive the approximately 15-acre property in the southeast corner of the Navy Yard. Redbrick LMD is planning 1.7M SF of development for the site including residential, retail, hospitality, and office.
