MIT Releases Plans for New College of Computing School Building
MIT has submitted plans to the City of Cambridge for a new academic building on the site of the old MIT Building 44 at 51 Vassar Street. The Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing will feature approximately 174,000 gross floor area across 8 floors. The building will reach 120 feet. MIT announced the plans in 2019 with a $350,000,000 gift from Stephen Schwarzman to found the College of Computing. Demolition began in September of 2020.
