410 West 126th Street Update 08/05/21

Mixed-Use Development Tops Out in Harlem

A new, 16-story, mixed-use development at 410 West 126th Street in Harlem has finally topped out. The superstructure is now complete after slowly climbing since the fall. Developed by Columbia International, the building will contain 93 apartments and 47 parking spaces. Architect, Peter Poon, was tasked with designing the 169-foot tall structure, and the final design calls for a shiny glass and aluminum facade.

While general contractor, Sunlight Construction AA, still has plenty of work to do inside the hollow 167,744 sqft interior, the completed skeleton makes it easy to visualize how the final shape of the building will fit within its neighborhood surroundings.

Although its abstract form assumes a larger presence, 410 West only sits on 19,960 sqft of land. With 59,931 sqft of commercial space planned, retail and office space will likely consume the first three stories (with residential apartments occupying floors 4 and up). Completion of the building is scheduled for later this year, although that seems likely to change.
