Newark Zoning Board Green Lights 41-Story Tower Project

The Zoning Board of Adjustments has officially approved plans for a 41-story, residential tower, proposed at 200-208 Market Street in Newark, New Jersey.

Developed by , the sleek high-rise will be known as "Newark Summit Tower". Designed by , it will stand feet tall and total square feet.

The building will contain apartment units, offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. While most of these are to be listed at market rate, approximately 103 units (20%) will be dedicated to affordable housing. Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a swimming pool, a spa, and multiple lounge areas + entertainment spaces.

Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, a cellar level, and an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

To be built on a through lot, spanning 200-204 + 206-208 Market Street, and 21-23 Edison Place, the tower will sit directly across the street from Prudential Center. The development will replace a couple of existing, low-rise structures, and demolition is slated to begin in a couple of months. will serve as the general contractor for the project once construction gets underway.
