Passive House, Affordable Housing Development Approved in East Boston
Plans have been approved for an affordable, Passive House multifamily development at 2 Shawsheen Road in East Boston. The project will include 57 units total, 22 homeownership units, and 35 rental apartments in 2 buildings. Plans also include open space between the two buildings reserved for the future implementation of the Winthrop Greenway, a shared-use path that will connect the Orient Heights Station, the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway, and the town of Winthrop.
