Permit Requests Filed for Phase II at Gas Worx

The developers have filed permit requests for infrastructure construction of Phase II of Gas Worx, the $500 million development in Tampa. The plans show the road layouts, street grid connections, water and sewer lines, new street connections and vacated roundabouts. Construction has begun on Phase I, which includes 316 apartments along with 2,500 square feet of retail space. The proposed master planned development would add as many as 5,000 homes, 500,000 square feet of office space and 150,000 square feet of retail space.  The Gas Worx project would connect Tampa’s historic Ybor City with the Channel District and the Water Street development.  Spread out over 50 acres, the development is being rolled out in stages and includes the redevelopment of a 70,000 square foot warehouse and the demolition of the vacant Tampa Park apartment complex.
