Project Spotlight: Selene NYC

Selene, located in the heart of Midtown East, is a 63-story condominium tower featuring 94 modern residences. The building, designed by Foster + Partners & SLCE, offers bespoke design, tailored amenities, and iconic vistas. The Gordon H. Smith Corporation, building enclosure experts, consulted on the facade of the project which features a unitized curtain wall and custom extruded aluminum shadow boxes at the spandrel areas. With no more than one or two residences per floor, residences offer dramatic vistas magnified by these innovative glass curtain walls, revealing technicolor day-to-night compositions of New York’s most celebrated architectural landmarks.
Since its founding in 1975, the Gordon H. Smith Corporation has been on the cutting edge of building enclosure system design and construction. The firm provided design assistance, custom specification preparation, procurement assistance, shop drawing review, observation of performance mock-up installation and testing, and NYC special inspections for this project.
