Proposed New John Hancock Building Acquired for $177M
Skanska USA has bought 380 Stuart Street - the site of the proposed "New John Hancock Tower" in a $177,000,000 purchase. Skanska is planning to construct a new 27-story, 625,000 SF flex-space office tower.
Before selling, longtime Boston-based life insurance company John Hancock was to build a landmark tower in Boston's Back Bay. Approved for construction in November 2015, the tower was going to be located steps from two existing iconic Boston towers also originally developed by and for John Hancock.
